You are invited to join us for our inaugural gala banquet and fun weekend retreat, with a purpose! Taking place at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, Florida, USA, from November 10-12, 2023, this exclusive semi-formal event will be hosted by USA4RSA (USA for the Republic of South Africa).
Several wonderful activities will be offered throughout the weekend and Safety Harbor Resort & Spa, which boasts breathtaking views of Tampa Bay, will offer guests discounted accommodation rates.
Whether you decide to indulge in the resort’s natural spa, explore downtown shopping and coffee shops, do a walking trail, take a bike ride, or just attend the evening gala, this event will be a memorable experience of fun and relaxation. Socializing, sight-seeing, Friday night music and dance, a Sunday local market, golf, vendor exhibition, networking, east coast swing dance classes (no partner required) and much more are also on offer. Once at the hotel, everything is within walking distance.
Our gala banquet on Saturday evening will be the highlight of the weekend. It will be a memorable experience for ticket holders, as they dress up and dance the night away. They will be treated to superb entertainment, all while contributing to an exceptionally worthy cause.
Although this event will have a uniquely South African flare, it is open to anyone who wants to support a worthy charitable cause. This is specifically for, but not limited to, South Africans, Americans and Canadians.
Don’t forget to also make a reservation at the hotel very well in advance as accommodation is limited and not included in your gala ticket! No deposit required, and you can cancel up to 72 hours prior to check in. Ask for discounted rates at $208 per night including taxes, resort fees, spa amenities, parking and more.
Funds raised will be directed towards the USA4RSA Foundation’s Solar Panel Campaign. Community Mental Health & Psychiatry Foundation (CMHP), located in the Western Cape, South Africa, operates seven facilities, clinics, a frail care center, and a children’s home. Founded in 1991 by Roy and Matilda Harris, CMHP offers comprehensive long-term care for 300 children and adults with severe and profound intellectual, developmental, physical, and mental disabilities, which significantly hinder their integration into society. Unfortunately, this community has been facing persistent challenges due to daily power outages lasting up to 10 hours. To address this issue, the USA4RSA Foundation was established by Roy and Matilda Harris in Florida, serving as a catalyst for fundraising and promoting capacity building in health and education nonprofits.
Furthermore, as a gesture of support to American veterans in need of mental health services, and in celebration of Veteran’s Day on Nov 11, 10% of the funds raised will be donated to the American Legion of Tampa.
